The Kullu Festival should not be missed. Durga Puja festivities symbolise the victory of good over evil. The festival marks the slaying of demon "Mahishasura" by Durga - the mother goddess. Durga idols are installed at giant pandals and worshipped with chanting of mantras and blowing of conches. The puja ends with Vijaydashmi when the idols are taken for visarjan, or immersion.

You will follow your tour by discovering some very famous Sikh and Hindu pilgrimages sites: Amritsar and its Golden Temple, Haridwar, one of the seven holy cities of Hinduism, the four Hindus sacred temples (Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath) and Rishikesh, on the banks of the river sacred Mother Ganga.

The highest Point is 3680m (Tungnath).

The Best Season is from September to October.

Day 01 : Arrive /Delhi -
Late at night welcome at Indira Gandhi International Airport and transfer to Hotel. Overnight stay at Hotel.
 
       
 
Day 02 : Delhi /Amritsar (by train) -
Morning after breakfast transfer to the railway station in time to board train to Amritsar. And on arrival and
 
 
transfer to Hotel.

Day 03 : Amritsar /Full day sightseeing (By Jeep) -
Early morning visit of Golden Temple - the holiest shrine of the Sikh religion with a golden dome of 100 kg of pure gold. Visit nearby Jalianwala Bagh, which is the mute testimony of the 2000 Indian massacred by the British in 1919. PM visit to Bagha Border. Overnight stay at hotel.
 
     
 
Day 04 : Amritsar /Dalhousie /Chamba (996m 229 kms by Jeep)-
 
 
Morning after breakfast, drive to Chamba. En route, visit Dalhousie. Dalhousie was, in the British era, a sort of second-string hill station, mainly used by people who lived in Lahoue and could not aspire to life in Shimla. It was acquired from the raja of Chamba by the British and was named after Lord Dalhousie, then viceroy of India, by David McLeod (after whom McLeod Gunj was named). Dalhousie is famous for its public schools. After continua drive to Chamba on arrival and continue hotel. PM visit Lakshmi Narayan Temple. Chamba was the headquarters of a district of the same name, and was ruled by a single dynasty of maharajas. The town was founded by one Raja Sahil Varman, who shifted by capital here from Brahmaur and named it after his daughter Champavati. Chamba has a grassy promenade known as the Chowgan, which is the focus for the minjar Festival, held each year in late July our early August.Overnight stay at hotel.
 
       
 
Day 05 : Chamba /Dharamsala /Mcleodganj (1770m 105 kms by Jeep) -
Morning after breakfast, drive to McLeod Ganj. One arrive at McLeod Ganj, the home of the fourteenth Dalai Lama. It is also the present headquarters of the Tibetan Government in Exile. Visit the most important Buddha monument in McLeod Ganj, which is known as Dalai Lama's temple. Visit of Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts and other Tibetan offices and Institutions. Overnight stay at hotel.
 
       
 
Day 06 : Mcleodganj /Manikaran (1737m 230 kms by Jeep) -
Morning after breakfast, drive to Manikaran. En route, visit Palampur and its tea plantations. After continua drive to Manikaran. PM visit Sikh Temple. Overnight stay at hotel.
 
       
 
Day 07 : Manikaran /Kullu (1219m 45 kms by Jeep) -
Morning after breakfast, drive to Kullu.Overnight stay at hotel.
 
       
 
Day 08-09 : Kullu Dusehra Festival -
During three days, take part in the Cultural Festival and see traditional himachali dances and colorful costumes,

Day 10 : Kullu /Chandigarh (353m 286 kms by Jeep) -

Day 11 : Chandigarh /Haridwar (292m 275 kms by Jeep) -
Morning after breakfast drive to Haridwar. PM visit the main Ghat and see the puja at main Ghat. Overnight stay at hotel.
 
     
 
Day 12 : Haridwar /Full day sightseeing -
Morning after breakfast by cable car hill visit to Mansa Devi Temple for a fascinating view of Ganges and this festive religious town. Later to visit to main Ghat Har Ki Pairi (the footstep of God), is supposed to be at the precise spot where the Ganges leaves the mountains and enters the plains. Consequently the river's power to wash away sins at this spot is superlative and the seat of sanctity is a footprint Lord Vishnu left in a stone here. Each evening at sunset priests perform the Ganga Arti, or river worship, ceremony here, when lights, which are set on the water, drift downstream and the priests engage in their elaborate rituals. Overnight stay at hotel.
 
       
 
Day 13 : Haridwar /Jankicatit (2650m 232 kms by Jeep) -
Morning after breakfast, drive to Janki Chatti. Overnight stay at hotel.
 
   
 
 
Day 14 : Jankicatit /Yamunotri (3185m) /Back Jankicatit (10 kms by Trek) -
Morning after breakfast, trek to Yamunotri. Yamunotri is near the source of the Yamuna River, the second-most sacred river in India after the Ganges. According to legend, this secluded hilly spot was the home of the ancient saint Agustmuni. There are the hot water springs nearby. Devotees prepare rice and potatoes in the hot water springs, to offer at the shrine. The trek to Yamunotri is spectacular, the entire route being dominated by a panorama of rugged peaks and dense forests. After back to Jankicatit. Overnight stay at hotel.
 
       
 
Day 15 : Jankicatit /Uttarkashi (1158m 150 kms by Jeep) -
Morning after breakfast drive to Uttarkashi, Uttarkashi altitude the last civilised township Evening visit bazaar and the Arti performance at the 400 years old lords Shiva temple. Overnight stay at hotel.
 
       
 
Day 16 : Uttarkashi /Gangotri (3048m) /Back Uttarkashi (200 kms by Jeep) -
Early Morning after breakfast drive 5 hrs to Gangotri. Visit the 18th century granite temple, dedicated to the Goddess Ganga, where she is believed to have descended to earth. It is situated on the right bank of the Bhagirathi River. Hindus believe that Ganga (here Bhagirathi) came down from heaven after King Bhagirath's centuries-long penance. He wanted to ensure his dead relatives' ascent to heaven by having their ashes washed by the sacred waters of the Ganga. When the tempestuous river arrived on earth, the force of her flow had to be checked by Siva who received her in the coils of his hair, lest she sweep all away. Later for an exploration walk in this mini exotic township. Evening to experience the prayers at the Ganga Temple. After back to Uttarkashi. Overnight stay at hotel.
 
       
 
Day 17 : Uttarkashi /Gaurikund (1981m 250 kms by Jeep) -
Morning after breakfast drive to Gaurikund on the way visit Agstmuni (914m) Agasteshwar Temple. After Continue drive to Gaurikund. Upon the arrival check into hotel .PM visit of the ancient sulphur-springs tank it is here the God Ganesha got his elephant head. Overnight stay at hotel.
 
       
 
Day 18 : Gaurikund /Kedarnath (3584m 14 kms by Trek) :
Morning after breakfast walk up towards Kedarnath 5 hrs along with the caravan of Hindu pilgrims. Amidst the dramatic mountainscapes of the majestic Kedarnath range, on the head of river Mandakini, the shrine of Kedarnath is amongst the holiest pilgrimages for the Hindus. The origin of the revered temple can be found in the epic Mahabharata. According to legend, the Pandavas sought the blessings of Lord Shiva to atone their sins after the battle of Mahabharata. Lord Shiva eluded them repeatedly and while fleeing took refuge at Kedarnath in the form of a bull. One being followed, he dived into the ground, leaving behind his hump on the surface. The lingam here is pyramidal in shape and considered as one of the twelve jyortirlingam (lingam of light). Overnight stay at hotel.
 
       
 
Day 19 : Kedarnath /Gaurikund /(1981m) /Okhimath (1310m) /Chopta (2700m) (14 kms by Trek and 88 kms by Jeep) :
Morning after breakfast trek downhill to Gaurikund 4 hrs. After lunch drive to Chopta. Overnight stay at hotel.
 
       
 
Day 20 : Okhimath /Chopta (2700m) /Tungnath (3680m) /Back Chopta /Gopeshwar (1515m) (40 kms by Jeep and 8 kms by Trek) :
Early morning after breakfast drive to Chopta 30 kms. Then 4 kms trek to climbing Chopta opens at view of the Himalayan panoramas and visit Tungnath Temple. From Chopta it is an arduous 4 kms trek climbing above the tree line to Tungnath, where the stone temple, thought to be the highest Hindu shrine in India, is fronted by a Nandi bull. The temple commemorates the appearance of the hands of Shiva. Trek down to Chopta and drive to Gopeshwar. Visit Gopinath Temple. Overnight stay at hotel.
 
       
 
Day 21 : Gopeshwar /Badrinath (3096m 100 kms by Jeep) -
Morning after breakfast drive to Badrinath via Joshimath. Take lunch at Joshimath and continue after to reach Badrinath, abode of Lord Vishnu. Surrounded by the Nilkanth, Nar and Narayan ranges, along the left bank of river Alaknanda, Badrinath is among the most sacred of India's holy cities. Legend has it, when the Ganga was requested to descend to earth to help alleviate the suffering of humanity, the earth was unable to withstand the force of its descent. Therefore the mighty Ganga was split into twelve holy channels. Alaknanda was one of them that later became the abode of Lord Vishnu or Badrinath.. Watch the beautiful evening prayer in temple. Overnight stay at tourist bungalow /hotel.
 
       
 
Day 22 : Badrinath /Mana Village /Joshimath/Auli (2740m 3 kms by Trek /48 kms by Jeep and 3 kms by Cable Car) -
Morning after breakfast drive 3 kms to Mana Village. Inhabited by Bhotias. Visit the Vyash Gufa (cave), where Maharshi Vyash wrote Mahabharat (Holy book of Hindu). This village is famous for woollen handicraft like blanket, carpet, shawl, sweater, etc. After reach Joshimath by crossing Vishnuprayag, one of the five holy confluences of the various tributaries of Ganga. The five auspicious confluences, named "Panch Prayag", are Deoprayag, Rudraprayag, Karanprayag, Nandprayag and Vishnuprayag, where the Alaknanda, which rises near Badrinath, meets the Dhauli Ganga river 10 kms north of Joshimath. Arrive at Joshimath and visit Shankaracharya temple. It was at Joshimath that the 9 th century Hindu theologian Shankaracharya meditated and reached enlightenment under a mulberry tree before embarking on his quest to revive Hinduism and establish the four maths seats of learning and dhams (religious centres) in the four cardinal points of the country. Joshimath was designated the first of the maths (named Jyotimath- Jyoti means light,) and Badrinath was established as the first dham, with the restoration of the image of Vishnu in the temple there. Take a cable car or by road 14 kms ride to Auli - a winter ski resort, which provides excellent opportunities for cross country, slalom and downhill skiing events. Day 23 : Auli /Rishikesh (348m 253 kms by Road) -
Morning after breakfast drive to Rishikesh in 10 hrs. On the way cross the four prayags, the holy confluences of the various tributaries of Ganga. Deoprayag is the most sacred of all the prayags because it's the very first one at the confluence of Bhagirathi (originating at Gaumukh) and Alaknanda (originating from snowy peaks above Badrinath). The two become the Ganges. Check in hotel upon arrival. Evening go to the Triveni Ghat to see the Ganga Puja, when lighted lamps are set afloat on the river, which is a delightful sight. Overnight stay at hotel.
 
 
       
 
Day 24 : Rishikesh (340m) Full day sightseeing -
Early morning after breakfast visit Rishikesh, situated at the confluence of the Chandrabhaga and Ganga. Rishikesh has been a holy of pilgrimage since time immemorial, with sages and ascetics making their way here to pay homage to the great Mother Ganga en route to the pilgrim sites further north in the Himalaya. According to tradition, Lord Rama and his brother Lakshman stopped over hereafter slaying the demon Ravana. The town grew around the Bharat temple, which was erected on the site at which lord Vishnu appeared to two Rishis a father and son who had impressed the god with their intense veneration. Visit Temples and Ashram. Overnight stay at hotel.
 
       
 
Day 25 : Rishikesh /Delhi (225 kms by Jeep) -
Morning after breakfast drive to reach Delhi, in 6 hrs. Arrival and check in hotel for overnight stay at hotel.
 
       
 
Day 26 : Delhi /Full day sightseeing and Departure (by Car) -
Morning after breakfast, full day sightseeing and shopping in Delhi. Evening transfer to international airport in time to board flight for onward destination.
