Markha Valley Trek With Stok Kangri And Kang Yatze Peaks Climbing !!

The trek from Stok to Hemis crosses the marvelous Markha Valley in the Hemis National Park, High Passes and Rivers. Easily accessible and beautiful trekking route during which you will admire the snow covered peaks (climbing Stok Kangri Peak (6111m) and Kang Yatze Peak (6400m), the incredible Markha gorges with the stones green and purple, the gigantics himalayans panoramas. You will finish the trip visiting the world famous Taj Mahal at Agra.

We organise also one tour with only Stok Kangri climbing (21 days) and another with only Kang Yatze climbing (20 days).

The trek starts from Stok and the 14 days of trek are easy. The highest point is 6400m (Kang Yatze Peak).

The best season is from June to September

A local guide will be with you during all these 22 days from Delhi to Delhi.
 
   
         
 
Day 01 : Arrival Delhi -
Late at night welcome at Indira Gandhi International Airport and transfer to Hotel. Overnight stay at Hotel.
   
         
 
Day 02 : Delhi /Leh (3505m 1H by Flight) -
Morning transfer to the domestic airport to board flight for Leh, the capital of Ladakh over the dramatic expanse of
   
 
the Himalayas. Meet on arrival and transfer to hotel. Day rest for acclimatation. Overnight stay at Hotel.
Kang Yatze Expedition
   
       
 
Day 03: Leh /Likir (3750m) /Alchi /Leh (3505m by Jeep) -
Morning, after breakfast, drive to Likir for to visit monastery and museum with interesting royal artefacts, arms and armour on show. Drive after since Alchi Choskor, "religious enclave" is the most famous and largest of all the Gompa built by Lotsava Rinchen Zangpo, the Translator, in 11th century. The main image is that of Vairocana but there can also
   
 
been seen the Five Buddha Families together with their attendant deities, the beautiful and various forms of the buddhas and bodhisattvas moulded in clay, carved in wood and painted on the walls. Come back to Leh. Overnight stay at Hotel.
   
         
 
Day 04 : Leh /Shey and Tiktse Gompa /Stok (3900m by Jeep) -
Morning after breakfast, drive to Stok. En route, visit Shey and Tiktse Gompas. Shey is situated on a hillock 15 kms southeast of Leh. Visit the palace gompa built by Deldan Namgyal in the beginning of 17th Century Ad. The main image in the monastery is three-stored statue of Buddha Shakyamuni, made of copper guilt. There are a large number of ancient chortens and the five dhyani Buddhas rock carving (circa 8th century). After drive 4 kms to Tiktse and visit the monastery situated on a hilltop overlooking the village and the Indus. Tiktse Gonpa belong to the Gelukspa order (the yellow hat). There are several temples containing thangkas, stupas, wall paintings and a colossal statue of Maitreya, the future Buddha. Visit after the Palace of Stok built in 1814. It's where the last king of Ladakh died in 1974. The museum has an unique display of rare ornaments from the royal family, thangkas, and traditional clothing and jewellery. Overnight stay in Tent.
   
         
 
Day 05 : Stok /Stok Camp (4300m Trekking) -
Morning, after breakfast, start for the first day of trekking with packed lunch to reach Stok Camp. The first day is a very easy walk up to Stok Camp. Overnight stay in Tent.
   
         
 
Day 06 : Stok Camp / Stok Kangri Base Camp (4930m Trekking) -
Morning, after breakfast, start the trek with packed lunch to reach Stok Kangri Base Camp. This day of trekking is easy. We follow the river which comes from Stok Kangri. Overnight stay in Tent.
   
         
 
Day 07 : Stok Kangri Base Camp /Climbing Stok Kangri Peak (6111m) and back Stok Kangri Base Camp (4930m) -
Early morning after breakfast, climb Stok Kangri Peak. Come back to Stok Kangri Base Camp. This day is a slightly
   
 
harder day. Overnight stay in Tent.

Day 08 : Stok Kangri Base Camp /Foot of Stok-La (4550m Trekking) -
Morning, after breakfast, start the trek with packed lunch to reach the foot of Stok-La. This day is a little more difficult Overnight stay in Tent.
   
       
 
Day 09 : Foot of Stok-la /Stok-La (4900) /Rumbak Village (3920m Trekking) -
   
 
Morning, after breakfast, start the trek for to climb Stok-La. From Stok-La you see the beautiful valley of Stok and Indus, Sabu, Choglamsar and Rumbak Villages. After, continue trek down for to reach Rumbak Village. This day is a little difficult day. Overnight stay in Tent.
   
         
 
Day 10 : Rumbak Village /Yurutse (4220m) /Ganda La (4930) /Shingo (4170m Trekking) -
Morning, after breakfast, start the trek with packed lunch for to climb since Yurutze and after Ganda La. The climb is regular but very long. After trekking continues down for to reach Shingo. Overnight stay in Tent.
   
         
 
Day 11 : Shingo /Skiu (3410) /Markha (3740m Trekking) -
Morning, after breakfast, start the trek with packed lunch for to trek down since Skiu. Visit the Chosling Gompa. Climb after for to reach Penze Camp at Markha. It's a very easy trek with the cross of the river. Overnight stay in Tent.
   
         
 
Day 12 : Markha /Hankar (4050m Trekking) -
Morning, after breakfast, start the trek with packed lunch. Visit on the way Shamonatha Markha Gompa and also Kunkhan Tacha Gompa. It's an easy day trek but crossing a lot of times the river. Reach the Tongtek Rongma Camp. Overnight stay in Tent.
   
   
   
 
Day 13 : Hankar /Kang Yatze base camp (4845m Trekking) -
Morning, after breakfast, start the trek with packed lunch to reach Kang Yatze base camp. Overnight stay in Tent.
   
         
 
Day 14-15 : Kang Yatze base camp /Climbing Kang Yatze Peak (6400) and back Kang Yatze base camp (4845m) -
Morning after breakfast drive to reach Ringdom. by covering approx. 140 kms upon arrival PM. Visit the Ringdom monastery. Overnight food and stay in Tent.
   
         
 
Day 16 : Kang Yatze base camp /Konmaru La (5200m) /La Camp (4695m Trekking) -
Morning, after breakfast, start the trek with packed lunch to reach La Camp. After a long zig zag climb along the
   
 
mountainside, cross Konmaru-La. The Kongmaru La is the highest pass on the trek and affords great views, south to the Zanskar Range and north to the Ladakh Range. After that, trek down to reach the campsite. It's a little bit hard day. Overnight stay in Tent.

Day 17 : La Camp /Shang Sumdo (3695m Trekking) -
Morning, after breakfast, start the trek with packed lunch for to trek down since Shang Sumdo. We follow the narrow valley with very beautiful purple and green gorges. Evening, visit the monastery at
   
 
Shang. Overnight stay in Tent.
   
         
 
Day 18 : Shang Sumdo /Hemis (3585m Trekking) -
Morning, after breakfast, start the trek with packed lunch to reach Hemis. Afternoon visit Hemis Gompa, founded in the 17th century. It is the richest and the largest monastery of the area. Overnight stay in Tent.
   
         
 
Day 19 : Hemis /Leh (3505m by Jeep) -
Early morning, after breakfast, take part in the morning religious ceremony (puja). It's a very soothing and spiritual experience to be there among these warm and friendly monks. After, drive to reach Leh by jeep. Overnight stay at Hotel.
   
         
 
Day 20 : Leh /Delhi (1H Flight and by Road) -
Early morning transfer to the Leh airport to board flight for Delhi. Transfer to hotel. After visit Delhi. Overnight stay at Hotel.
   
         
 
Day 21 : Delhi /Agra 200 kms by Road -
Morning after breakfast, drive to Agra. Visit the Taj Mahal, the most elaborate tomb ever erected, in memory of beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal in 1631, by Emperor Shah Jahan. Taj Mahal is built of pure white marble and is considered to be one of the seven wonders of the world. Overnight stay at Hotel.
   
         
 
Day 22 :Agra /Delhi Departure (200 kms by Road) -
Morning after breakfast, drive to Delhi. Evening transfer to international airport in time to board flight for onward destination.
