The programme involves visit to the Source of the legendry river GANGA below the base of mighty Himalayan Peaks (6500-7000 m) bordering China, Progress through Gangotri (dream town!) and onto another valley towards ancient pilgrimage route to Kedarnath temple (of the Epic Mahabharat) en route crossing the Panwali Pass commanding a panoramic view of the surrounding Himalayan Peaks. A number of exotic villages are visited on trail and the programme climaxes with the ceremonies on the Ganga downstream at Haridwar, hundreds of burning lamps floating on the river at sunset... prayers chanted... another spectacle impossible to ever forget.

The trek starts from Gangotri and the 13 days of trek are difficult. The highest Point is 4463m (Tapovan)
The Best Season is from the end of April to the end of June and from the middle of August to end of October.

Day 01 : Arrival Delhi -
Late at night welcome at Indira Gandhi International Airport and transfer to Hotel. Overnight stay at Hotel. |

Day 02 : Delhi/Rishikesh (340m 225 kms by Road) -
Morning after breakfast drive to Rishikesh for 6 to 7 hrs Rishikesh the city of temples and Ashrams. Check in hotel |

Day 03 : Rishikesh /Uttarkashi (1158m 164 kms by Road) -
Morning 7 hrs, drive to Uttarkashi thus entering the Himalaya. Uttarkashi altitude the last civilised township. Evening visit the Arti performance at the 400 years old lords Shiva temple. Overnight stay at hotel. |

Day 04 : Uttarkashi /Gangotri (3048m 100 kms by Road) -

Early morning drive 5 to 6 hrs to Gangotri. Afternoon, visit the 18th century granite temple, dedicated to the Goddess Ganga, where she is believed to have descended to earth. It is situated on the right bank of the Bhagirathi River. Hindus believe that Ganga (here Bhagirathi) came down from heaven after King Bhagirath's centuries-long penance. He wanted to ensure his dead relatives' ascent to heaven by having their ashes washed by the sacred waters of the Ganga. When the tempestuous river arrived on earth, the force of her flow had to be checked by Siva who received her in the coils of his hair, lest she sweep all away. Day 05 : Gangotri /Bhujbasa (3742m 14 kms Trek) -
Morning trek walk starts a gradual 5 hrs towards the great Gangotri Glacier, through a wide open valley of pine forest and glimpses of himalayan peaks and the silence of the Himalaya, punctuated only with the hymns of an occasional Yogi in his state of worship. Beauty in enchanting form Evening visit and meet the Sadhu at Ashram for tales of mythology. Overnight stay in tent. |

Day 06 : Bhujbasa /Tapovan (4463m 8 kms Trek) -
Early morning witness the glorious sunrise on Peaks. Trek 1 hr to Gaumukh, the source of Ganga and a location for many Saints in silent meditation and Continue gradually uphill 3 hrs across the Gangotri Glacier to Tapovan. Fascinating Mt Shivling towering above is the seat of meditation of Lord Shiva as in the mythology. Overnight stay in tent. |

Day 10 : Lata /Belak (2571m 13 kms Trek) -
Morning after breakfast trek to belak, trek to uphill between meadows and forests. Enroute you visit local people summerhouse for cows and buffow its name is (Channi). The people live six month with their cattle's. Overnight stay in tent. |

Day 11 : Belak /Baironchati (2393m 14 kms Trek) -
Morning start trek walk along the paddy fiends up towards Baironchati. Local houses within the folds of pine forests and the tribesmen grazing their cattle A 6 hrs, walk to the meadows of Baironchati. Enchanting place and commanding the best sunset view known in the Himalaya. An old temple used by tribesmen for animal sacrifice attracts many villagers with drums and flutes. Overnight stay in tent. |

Day 11 : Belak /Baironchati (2393m 14 kms Trek) -

Day 12 : Baironchati /Ghuttu (1524m 10 kms Trek) -
Downhill gradual walk 4 hrs, En route visit into the Garhwal village for meeting with the local family, a rendezvous with the traditional silversmith. Arrive Ghuttu a very small township built around an old temple Campfire with villagers. Overnight stay in tent. |

Day 13 : Ghuttu /Panwali (3963m 12 kms Trek) -
Early morning start walk to cross the Pass of Panwali Kanta a gradual but long up walk 7 to 8 hrs through amazing landscape, of rhododendrons, bhojpatra, distant views of the valleys. A unique tribe exists here confined to only the reaches of Panwali, the People have striking features and the women are extremely beautiful and interestingly bold and curious towards the visitor. This Panwali Pass overlooks once again the string of Himalayan peaks along the distant horizon an enchanting sight. Overnight stay in tent. |

Day 14 : Panwali /Triyuginaryan (1982m 16 kms Trek) -
Morning after breakfast trek Downhill walk 6 hrs to the ancient temple of Lord Shiva. Visit the temple carved out from rocked and stone. Meeting with the Temple Pandit. Overnight stay in tent. |

Day 15 : Triyuginaryan /Gaurikund (1981m) /Kedarnath (3584 m) (10 kms by Road /14 kms Trek)
Early morning drive to Gaurikund 30 minutes. After walk up towards Kedarnath 5 hrs along with the caravan of Hindu pilgrims. Amidst the dramatic mountainscapes of the majestic Kedarnath range, on the head of river Mandakini, the shrine of Kedarnath is amongst the holiest pilgrimages for the Hindus. One being followed, he dived into the ground, leaving behind his hump on the surface. Day 17 : Kedarnath /Rudraprayag (610m 14 kms Trek /85 kms by Road) -
Early morning walk down 3 hrs to Gaurikund for drive to Rudraprayag in approx. 5 hrs. Rudraprayag is one of the "Panch Prayag", the five holy confluences of the various tributaries of Ganga : Deoprayag, Rudraprayag, Karanprayag, Nandprayag and Vishnuprayag. It is the confuence of the rivers Alaknanda - which rises near Badrinath and Mandakini - flowing from its source at Kedarnath. The bustling commercial centre is also famous as the place where Jim Corbett shot a man-eating leopard. Overnight stay at hotel. |

Day 18 : Rudraprayag /Haridwar (292m 169 kms by Road) -
Early morning drive to Haridwar 6 hrs. On the way stop at Deoprayag. It is the most sacred of all the prayags because it's the very first one at the confluence of Bhagirathi (originating at Gaumukh) and Alaknanda (originating from snowy peaks above Badrinath). The two become the Ganges. It's an important pilgrim spot with its famous Shiva and Raaghunath temples. Upon the arrival check in hotel. Overnight stay at hotel. |

Day 19 : Haridwar (292) /Full day sightseeing -
Morning after breakfast, by cable car hill visit to Mansa Devi Temple for a fascinating view of Ganges and this festive religious town. Later to visit to main Ghat Har Ki Pairi (the footstep of God), is supposed to be at the precise spot where the Ganges leaves the mountains and enters the plains. Consequently the river's power to wash away sins at this spot is superlative and the seat of sanctity is a footprint Lord Vishnu left in a stone here.
