Valley Of Flower Trek With Badrinath Temple And Taj Mahal !!
(14 days Delhi to Delhi / 04 days of Trek)

In Hindu mythology the Valley of Flowers is associated spiritually with the name of Lord Lakshmana, the younger brother of Lord Rama of Ramayana fame. The former was believed to have meditated on the banks of Lokpal Lake (Hemkund). The sanjeewani buti by virtue of which Lord Lakshmana was brought to life after he was badly wounded by Meghnath (the son of Ravana) was found here. It is futher believed to be the place where God showered the flowers that took root. The best season is June and August /September when the Valley bursts into a sudden riot of colours for to admire a multitude of rare and beautiful plants and flowers.

 
 
During the journey you will discover some very famous pilgrimages sites: Hemkund, one of the most important and sacred places of the Sikhs ; Badrinath, dedicated to the Trinity in Hindu mythology and Haridwar, one of the seven holy cities of Hinduism.

You will finish the trip visiting the world famous Taj Mahal at Agra.

The trek starts from Govindghat and the five days of trek are easy. The highest point is 4150m (Hemkund Sahib).

Day 01 : Arrival Delhi -
Late at night welcome at Indira Gandhi International Airport and transfer to Hotel. Overnight stay at Hotel.
 
       
 
Day 02 : Delhi/Rishikesh (340m 225 kms by Road) -
Morning after breakfast drive to reach Rishikesh, via Haridwar, in 6 hrs. Arrival and check in hotel for overnight stay at hotel.
 
       
 
Day 03 : Rishikesh/Joshimath (1875m 253 kms by Road) -
Morning after breakfast drive to reach Joshimath in 7-8 hrs. On the way cross the four holy confluences of the
 
 
various tributaries of Ganga. There are five auspicious confluences named "Panch Prayag" : Deoprayag, Rudraprayag, Karanprayag, Nandprayag and Vishnuprayag. Deoprayag is the most sacred of all the prayags because it's the very first one at the confluence of Bhagirathi (originating at Gaumukh) and Alaknanda (originating from snowy peaks above Badrinath). The two become the Ganges. Proceed after lunch to reach Joshimath, the winter abode of Lord Badrinath. Arrive and check in hotel for overnight stay at hotel.

Day 04 : Joshimath/Govindghat (1828m)/Ghangriya (3048m) (20 kms by Road/14 kmTrek) -
Morning after breakfast drive to reach Govindghat crossing Vishnuprayag. Here, the Alaknanda, which rises near Badrinath, meets the Dhauli Ganga river 10 kms north of Joshimath. Upon arrival start trekking to reach Ghangriya in 5 hrs. The trek begins by crossing the suspension bridge over Alaknanda river. The path continues in zigzag with the constant companion Lakshman Ganga gurgling past dense vegetation and forest. One can have panoramic views of Kak Bhusandi Valley. Ghangriya, nestled amidst the giant deodars, is the base for both Valley of Flowers and Hemkund Sahib (4150m) which is the holiest place for the Sikhs. Overnight stay at hotel.
 
       
 
Day 05 : Ghangriya/Valley of Flowers (3658-3962m)/Ghangriya (3048m) (10 kms Trek) -
Morning after breakfast start trekking to the Valley of Flowers, known as the "garden on top of the world", where nature has endowed its bounties aplenty. The path climbs up steadily. Against the dazzling snow covered peaks, the Valley is an enchanting sight with an incredible variety of wild flowers. Notable among them are himalayan blue poppy, brahma kamal, rennanclus, jareneyum, potentila, dumex etc. About 9 kms long and 2 kms wide, the Valley is divided by Bhuinder Ganga emerging from the slopes of Rataban and Nilgiri Parbat. Return to Ghangriya for overnight stay at hotel.
 
       
 
Day 06 : Ghangriya/Hemkund Sahib (4150m)/Ghangriya (3048m) (12 kms Trek) -
Morning after breakfast start trekking 6 kms to Hemkund Sahib. The winding path climbs up to a high altitude Himalayan fresh water lake with a profusion of flowers. Legend has it that this lake was made by Lord Rama's brother Lakshmana by shooting an arrow to quench the thirst of Sita, wife of Lord Rama. According to the Guru Granth Sahib - the holy book of the Sikhs - Guru Govind Singh - the founder of the Sikh Religion - in one of his previous births, meditated here. The lake is surrounded by seven snow covered peaks. The stream flows out and joins the river Alaknanda near Govindghat. There is a temple dedicated to Lakshmana - the brother of Rama of Ramayana fame - and a gurudwara (place of worship for Sikhs). Return to Ghangriya for overnight stay at hotel.
 
   
 
 
Day 07 : Ghangriya/Govindghat (1828m)/Badrinath (3096m) (14 kms Trek/28 kms byRoad) -
Morning after breakfast start trekking to reach Govindghat. Upon arrival drive to Badrinath. Visit the
 
 
Badrinarayan temple which is one of the holiest shrines of the Hindus. Watch the beautiful evening prayer in the temple. Overnight stay at tourist bungalow/hotel.

Day 08 : Badrinath/Mana Village (3100m)/Badrinath (3096m) (6 kms Trek) -
Morning after breakfast start trekking 3 kms to Mana Village , inhabited by Bhotias. Full day sightseeing of Mana Village where you can see Vyash Gufa (cave), where Maharshi Vyash wrote Mahabharat (Holy
 
 
book of Hindu). This village is famous for woollen handicraft like blanket, carpet, shawl, sweater, etc. Return to Badrinath for overnight stay at tourist bungalow/hotel.
 
       
 
Day 09 : Badrinath/Joshimath (1875m)/Auli (2740m) (48 kms by Road/3 kms by Cable Car) -
Morning after breakfast drive to Joshimath. Take a cable car ride to Auli - a winter ski resort, at the height of 3000m. Auli provides excellent opportunities for cross country, slalom and downhill skiing events. It offers a 180o panoramic view of Nanda Devi (7873m), Kamet (7756m), Mana Parvat (7273m), Dunagiri (7006m), Bethartoli (6352m), Neelkanth (6596m), Hathi (6727m) and Ghori Parvat (6590m). Overnight stay at tourist bungalow/hotel.
 
       
 
Day 10 : Auli/Haridwar (292m) (300 kms by Road) -
Morning after breakfast drive to Haridwar, via the four prayas (the holy confluences of the various tributaries of Ganga). On arrival transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.
 
       
 
Day 11 : Haridwar (292) /Full day sightseeing -
Morning after breakfast, by cable car hill visit to Mansa Devi Temple for a fascinating view of Ganges and this festive religious town. Later to visit to main Ghat Har Ki Pairi (the footstep of God), is supposed to be at the precise spot where the Ganges leaves the mountains and enters the plains. Consequently the river's power to wash away sins at this spot is superlative and the seat of sanctity is a footprint Lord Vishnu left in a stone here. Each evening at sunset priests perform the Ganga Aarti, or river worship, ceremony here, when lights which are set on the water drift downstream and the priests engage in their elaborate rituals. Overnight stay at hotel.
 
       
  Day 12 : Haridwar /Delhi (203 kms by Road) -
Morning after breakfast drive to Delhi in 6 hrs. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 13 : Delhi /Agra (by Car) -
Morning after breakfast, drive to Agra. Visit the Taj Mahal, the most elaborate tomb ever erected, in memory of beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal in 1631, by Emperor Shah Jahan. Taj Mahal is built of pure white marble and is considered to be one of the seven wonders of the world. Overnight stay at hotel.
 
     
 
Day 14 : Agra /Delhi Departure (by Car) -
Morning after breakfast, drive to Delhi. Evening transfer to international airport in time to board flight for onward destination.
